About
I met Umamusume the way most people do: as a joke. Cute horse girls, gacha, memes, a parody I was not meant to take seriously. I scrolled past it for a long time.
Then something broke. The fandom has a name for it, the breaking-illusion point: the moment you realize it was never a joke. Every character is built on a real horse, a real life, a real record, a real death, and the writers took all of it seriously, down to the grief. It is not a parody. It is not an idol story. There is a soul underneath every one of them.
After that you stop being a fan for the cuteness and the memes. You become a fan for the soul. That is where I have been ever since, and this site is what I do with it.

What this is
Just me, writing character studies. One character at a time, as deep as I can go.
Every study is built from the original Japanese: character stories, support card stories, the career scenario, home-screen lines, and the real-horse record behind each one. The Japanese is the authority text and the English is my working translation. They run long because I would rather follow a character all the way down than write something short and safe.
I write these because I want to take these characters as seriously as the people who wrote them did. That is the whole reason. There isn’t a second one.
Spoilers
These are complete studies. Full stories, endings included. If you would rather meet a character in-game first, come back after.
Pace
I’m a student, and this runs alongside university, a job, and other things. New studies arrive when they’re done. Some take a week, some take longer, and I would rather post something with depth than something on time.
Tell me I’m wrong
I’m not a native Japanese speaker and I care about getting these right. If you spot a mistranslation, or you read a character differently than I did, the feedback form at the bottom of every study comes straight to me. I read all of it, including the parts where you think I’m wrong.
